LemFi has announced a partnership with BVNK, a stablecoin payments infrastructure provider, to move its cross-border settlement processes onto stablecoin rails. According to LemFi, the partnership is designed to deliver near-instant value transfers between markets at a lower cost while keeping the customer experience unchanged within the LemFi app.
The company says international payments have traditionally relied on correspondent banking networks and SWIFT chains that can take days to settle and add costs at multiple stages. Through BVNK’s infrastructure, settlement will be routed over regulated stablecoin rails and then paid out in local currencies at the destination.
The announcement follows a strategic investment by Tether in May 2026. LemFi stated that the BVNK partnership operationalises the stablecoin settlement strategy outlined after Tether’s investment, which was intended to support the integration of stablecoin-based settlement across LemFi’s payment corridors.
LemFi co-founder and CEO Ridwan Olalere said the company is rebuilding the infrastructure that powers cross-border money movement, describing stablecoins as a way to achieve near-instant settlement and lower costs. The company added that millions of customers use its platform to transfer money between the UK, Europe, Australia, North America and emerging markets.
BVNK was selected because of its compliance-focused infrastructure, regulatory approvals across the UK, Europe and the United States, and its ability to support stablecoin payments globally. LemFi noted that the partnership combines speed with regulatory standards required for large-scale payment operations.
Together, the Tether investment and the BVNK partnership signal LemFi’s commitment to using stablecoins as a settlement layer for remittances and cross-border payments. The company is positioning stablecoin infrastructure as a practical tool for improving payment efficiency rather than as a speculative crypto product.
