Emirates has introduced Crypto.com Pay as a payment option on its website and mobile application, enabling customers with Crypto.com accounts to pay for flight bookings through a regulated digital payment platform. The rollout follows the memorandum of understanding signed between Emirates and Crypto.com in July 2025, which outlined plans to integrate Crypto.com Pay into the airline’s payment infrastructure.
The service is currently available to eligible UAE residents booking flights priced and settled in Emirati Dirhams (AED). Customers can select Crypto.com Pay during the checkout process on emirates.com or through the Emirates App. Transactions are processed in accordance with UAE regulatory requirements through Crypto.com’s Dubai-based entity.
According to Emirates, the initiative is intended to broaden customer payment choice and respond to changing consumer preferences. The airline noted the increasing use of digital financial services by customers who manage travel planning and financial transactions through mobile and online platforms. The implementation reflects Emirates’ focus on adapting its commercial and payment capabilities to evolving customer requirements while maintaining established standards for security and compliance.
From an operational perspective, the payment process has been integrated into Emirates’ existing booking channels. Mobile users are redirected to the Crypto.com application to authorise payment before returning to the Emirates App to receive booking confirmation and electronic tickets. Customers booking through the airline’s website complete payment by scanning a QR code and approving the transaction through their Crypto.com wallet. Once payment is confirmed, the booking is completed and the ticket issued electronically.
The partnership also reflects the broader development of digital payments within the UAE. Emirates stated that the initiative aligns with the country’s efforts to support financial technology innovation and expand the use of digital payment solutions across the economy. The integration is supported by Crypto.com’s regulated operations in Dubai, providing a framework for secure transaction processing and regulatory oversight.
For Emirates, the introduction of Crypto.com Pay represents an extension of its payment ecosystem rather than a fundamental change to its booking process. The airline continues to focus on providing customers with a wider range of payment methods while ensuring that new capabilities are implemented within established regulatory and operational frameworks. The move demonstrates how large international airlines are evaluating digital payment technologies as part of ongoing efforts to enhance customer convenience and support evolving payment preferences.
The launch completes the transition from the initial partnership announcement to a fully operational payment solution in less than a year. It also illustrates the growing convergence between the travel industry and digital financial services, with airlines increasingly exploring new payment mechanisms that complement traditional card and banking channels.
